Hi, I’m Saira Mahmood, a student aspiring to heal the world through video games.
What I exactly want is to develop a game called Zodiacs Jump that will help people regain their positive energy and boost their social lives through interactive gaming.
Wondering how that works?
Therapists and psychologists worldwide have accepted the fact that video gaming can have a profound effect on one’s mental wellness and mood. Even research has proven that internet gaming can help boost your mood as well as your social lives. My game will be doing exactly that. This will be a game not just for kids but for everyone looking to increase their communication and social skills and want to engage their creative side.
I want to create an entertaining gaming framework that will help build relationships amongst families and friends.
The problem, however, is that I’m stuck when it comes to financing the project. I have already planned and designed how the user interface and user experience, among other things, will look like. The entire project plan is ready for the development stage, but sadly, I have no money to hire developers/designers or any of the resources.
I have already tried and exhausted all the possible sources for fundraising, including my employer and institution. Nothing has panned out as of yet. But, I am just not ready to let go of my dream due to the lack of funds. After all, it’s for the good of the world, which is the sole goal of my life.
As per my estimate, I’ll be needing the sum of $59,000 to successfully develop and launch the game.
A big chunk of the amount raised will be used for hiring and maintaining the project team for game development, data protection, adverts, publicity, and marketing. Also, I plan to use a percentage of the sum for buying and maintaining a dedicated server to ensure seamless gameplay.
Of course, you would need to know everything about my game in order to understand my inspiration and what I’m trying to build here. So, here’s a quick overview of what ‘Zodiacs Jump’ is all about.
Zodiacs Jump is a game that features all the twelve constellations in the zodiac. It teaches people how to maneuver through life’s challenges through a gaming system that navigates through different galaxies and planets.
While the game is on, the player has to propel their upward-moving ship as fast as they can while avoiding various obstacles as they advance through tougher and more interesting levels.
As a mobile game, players will be able to entertain themselves wherever they find themselves, as long as they have their mobile phones with them.
With Zodiacs Jump, people will be able to learn more about the constellations and the solar system. Tougher levels will also improve the player’s calculative and decision-making skills as they make quick brain-engaging decisions to pilot their ship towards the end of the galaxy.
If you’re wondering why I chose to do this now, of all times, the answer is the increasing stress and mental health problems around the world. In the face of a global pandemic, the world needs all the healing it can get. I just want to do my bit as a game developer and build a game that will not just let people fill the void in their lives but also boost their mental health, help relieve stress and sharpen their intellect in a totally entertaining way.
